Q: WHY DID JESUS DIE?

A: His Love FOR YOU!

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.” JOHN 3:16

BUT WHY?

God created the earth and humans perfect.

But Adam and Eve sinned by listening to the deceiving voice of Satan, and disobeyed God. Since that time, sin and death entered humanity and all humans since have continued to break His laws, and as a result there is a punishment which we all now deserve - DEATH.

“For the wages of sin is death…” ROMANS 6:23(a)

Of course we will all die, but we are talking about eternity, beyond this earthly life. The destination options are heaven or hell. You see God is not only Loving, Gracious and Merciful but He is also just and so our sins can’t go unpunished, hence we all deserve to go to hell. So that’s where Jesus stood in for us. Jesus is both human and God incarnate. Jesus is the only perfect, sinless man to have ever lived on earth and so was the only one able to pay the death penalty you owed, which he did by willingly being executed on a cross.

…but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

ROMANS 6:23(b)

But three days later Jesus rose from death to life, destroying the power of sin, death and satan, and in doing so defeated death for all people who are willing to accept His free gift! All you need to do is repent of your sins meaning to be sorry for and turn away from the wrong things you have done, and in faith, turn your life over to Jesus.
